I was raised in the village of Xwemelch’stn (Capilano reserve) part of the Squamish Nation. I was born in 1992 and have been an artist my entire life.
My family is the Baker family, an we are the House Of Liluwagila. My ancestry comes from the Musgamagw Dzawada’enuxw, Kwakiutl, Tlingit, Squamish, and N’Quatqua St’at’mic
My mentor in carving has been my uncle
Klatle BhiI have done a lot of drawing an painting. I was raised in a family strongly rooted in the Potlach traditions, which has been a large part of me, my art, an my existence as an artist.
The piece of work I’m most proud of is usually the most recent one I’m working on. But if I would think back, I would choose my first mask. Because of how much of a learning curve it was at first.
My style of art comes from my Kwakiutl, Squamish, Tlingit background. Aswell as improvising.
