Regular price Sale price $200.00 CAD

Territorial birds, feisty yet innocent, and quite the astonishing present. This piece is a highly refined design that was at first only an image in the mind. It's charm is in its sharp silhouette, yet comfortable display.

  • Designed by John Velten

Born and raised in Kwikwetlem (Coquitlam), John's mixed roots stem from Europe, with German ancestry, and North-West Territories, with Dene ancestry. These contrasting lineages speak to his perspective, ability as an artist and affluence of different cultures.

  • The Hummingbird Symbol in Indigenous Art

Valued for their beauty and charm, the Hummingbird is often said to bring good luck to those who spot them. Among Haida people of the Eagle clan, Hummingbird is a family crest, but it is not traditionally a major motif in the art. It's popularity today indicates that it has become a very important symbol of love and beauty.
